How to Use:
Our name tracing worksheets are perfect for teaching students their weekly spelling words in a customized way using tools with a hands-on, multi-sensory approach. Here is an overview of the included spelling word activities:
Editable ASL & Magnet Activities:
Students will have a blast building their words with letter magnets! In addition, your children will practice fingerspelling to sign their words ten times. Students finish the hands-on activity by checking the box each time they fingerspell the word aloud.
Editable Brick Building Mat:
Students will have a ton of fun building their own names using pattern blocks. Once they finish creating their own name, students will practice math skills by counting the number of blocks they used based on shape & color. To wrap up, students can practice writing their own names in a sentence.
Editable Pattern Blocks Mat:
Students can use their own LEGO™ set or any other classic building bricks to build their own name. Students will then report on their creation by filling in the graphing chart. Children can continue to write their own names for extra practice.
Editable Popsicle Stick Activities:
Students will use popsicle sticks to spell their own name in a colorful array. They can use either full-size or half-sized sticks. Instruct students to report how many sticks were needed by counting the sizes and write the correct amount. Use the customized tracing name for name writing exercises.
Editable Playdough Mat:
Kids will have a great time squishing, squashing, and rolling playdough to build their very own name. Students will roll playdough into thin strips to create their names and roll balls of dough and smash them to place on the correct letters forming their name.
Editable Pin & Poke Worksheets:
Our fine motor name tracing worksheets are extremely effective at teaching a child how to write their name. For best results, use a wooden dowel and a felt pad to pin
and poke while spelling their own name. In addition, guide students to touch the dots as they spell their words aloud.
Editable Trace and Write Sheets:
Students will have a ton of hands-on activity practicing their own name by tracing it using their finger 5 times. Each letter holds a starting guide as your students trace to write the word with a pencil below.
Editable Snapcube Printables:
Your children will enjoy snaping their cubes together in a wonderful array of colors using snap cubes. Snap cubes provide hands-on activities for strengthening fine motor skills. Students will write their names in the empty boxes provided.
Editable Dab & Cut and Cut & Paste Activities:
Get those scissors out as kids will love this fun project! Using a cotton swab, students will dip their cotton swab in paint as they follow the stroke order for each letter of their name. Students will then use safety scissors and a dot of glue to place the letters in the correct order.
Editable Rainbow Trace & Path Maze:
In this creative and editable name tracing worksheet, students will use a variety of colors to trace their very own name. Then students can use a sharpened pencil to trace the line weaving through as they follow each path for extra fine motor skill-building.
